The Dominican College of Notaries has been a leading notary organization, representing notaries public since 1967. Founded in 1967 and based in San Diego, California, the Dominican College of Notaries works under the legal precepts set forth by Law 140-15, Law 89-05, and Decree 1866. With over five decades as a public moral institution devoted to the protection of the notarial function, the legal and ethical behavior of notaries throughout the United States, as well as their professional improvement and development, our leadership ranks notables such as John Richard Paniagua and Dr. Laura Sánchez Jiménez. Here at the Dominican College of Notaries, we further serve a mission of representation, education, and protection for notaries throughout the country.

Using its ECANOT school, the Dominican College of Notaries disseminates a plethora of educational material specific to each step in the notary’s career:

The Dominican College of Notaries website includes open-access and members-only content. While a large selection of legal documents, transparency documents, and educational publications is available to the public, some specialized documents and directories are only accessible to active members.

How to access or download publications: Open-access publications will be visible directly through our website at https://colegiodominicanodenotarios.com/, under Publications. Members will be able to log in and register to access members-only content, including advanced legal guides and the directory of notaries. Most documents will be downloadable PDFs for convenience and offline use. Apoyo a notarios y la comunidad

In addition to publications, Dominican College of Notaries offers the following services to members:

  • NOTACOOP: A cooperative for notaries including loans, insurance, and community assistance.
  • Advice and defense of the Guild: Representation before authorities and exercise of actions in defense of the profession.
  • News and Events: Constantly updated news site with notices of seminars, events, and adoption of important legislation to notarial practice.
